Breakdown Voltage Tester

Breakdown Voltage Tester is ideal for measuring the breakdown voltage of the electrical components, transformers and insulation material instruments. It also helps in determining the quality of insulating material prior to their utilization in various electrical applications. This method of test is intended to find the breakdown voltage of the liquid insulating materials like transformer oils, synthetic insulating materials etc. in liquid form. • Failure will occur during this test when voltage is applied between the electrodes and the breakdown voltage value is less than the maximum available test voltage. The insulating material when subjected to electrical stress, will experience a force on its molecular bonds which will break these bonds rendering the material conducting, thereby causing the failure. For accuracy reason, to find the breakdown voltage value of an insulating materials like magnet wires, various statistical methods like averaging, mean readings etc. are used.
